Review by hotel critic
Babilonas offers a stay that's surprisingly reasonable yet brings together a few luxury touches that make it worth considering. I found the 24-hour reception particularly reassuring, especially as I recently recovered from an operation. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to assist me, which was nice. Not all interactions were as pleasant; after the warm welcome, I encountered a lack of ongoing engagement from the staff. The state of the room left a lot to be desired, with a mouldy fridge and bathroom issues that needed immediate attention - concerning for a hotel aiming to portray luxury. While the room could benefit from thorough housekeeping, the location is a bonus-just a short walk from the city centre. The generous choice at breakfast and the availability of free toiletries were appreciated, yet, I found it all reminiscent of a practical stay rather than a lavish experience. Babilonas is decent for budget-conscious travelers, but perhaps certain guests might seek something with a bit more flair.
